Statement
Growing up in Louisiana, I learned that nature wasn’t just something beautiful to look at; it was something that shaped life itself. Your environment has a way of making you stop and take it all in. That same instinct—to pause, reflect, and connect—is what I hope to capture in my art.
I see my surroundings and experiences through a vibrant, colorful lens, and my work reflects that. Women, often myself or those who have shaped me, serve as symbols of transformation, growth, and shared experience. Nature acts as both a backdrop and a metaphor, mirroring cycles of growth, change, and the fluidity of identity. I break landscapes and figures into shapes and colors, allowing forms to merge and shift, just as memories and emotions do over time.
Patterns, shadows, and organic forms weave together in my work, creating a visual language that explores the complexities of selfhood and the female experience. Each composition blends realism with abstraction, constructing dreamlike environments filled with emotion, history, and a sense of place. Through my art, I want to create a space where personal and collective experiences intertwine—where viewers can find traces of their own stories within mine and see a piece of themselves illuminated.
